NICHOLAS HARBINSON | DIRECTOR | CHIEF INVESTMENT OFFICER - TANTALLON FUND |
Nick has over 26 years sales and management experience in investment banking in Asia. He began his career in Asian institutional sales at WI Carr in London in 1983, following 5 years with the Swire Group in New Guinea and Hong Kong.
In 1985 he moved with WI Carr to New York, spent a short year at SBCI before returning to WI Carr and then returned to HK in 1988. He took over the responsibility for WI Carr’s Asian business as Managing Director in 1990. In 1993 he joined Goldman Sachs as co-head of Asian equities but returned to WI Carr as CEO in 1995.
In mid-2000 he joined Merrill Lynch as Head of Asian sales and sales/trading.He left Merrill Lynch in early 2003 to found Tantallon Capital.He has a BA in English Literature from Oxford University.

TARIQ AHMAD, CFA | DIRECTOR | CHIEF INVESTMENT OFFICER - TANTALLON EMERGING MARKETS FUND

Tariq has over 25 years' experience in the securities and finance industry. He spent 11 years at Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, most recently as Chief Investment Officer for the Asia-Pacific markets. He was Director at Sceptre Investment Counsel in Toronto (1994-1998), responsible for Asian and Emerging Markets and has worked with Saudi American Bank/ Citibank in managing US and global equities.
Mr Ahmad has an MBA from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, USA, is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, and as a member of the AIMR, holds the CFA charter.

Siew Hua was most recently Managing Director, Head of Asia ex-Japan equity management at Goldman Sachs Asset Management.Siew Hua joined GSAM in 1998 as portfolio manager with analyst responsibilities for Singapore, Malaysia and regional banks. She assumed responsibilities for all institutional portfolios,coverage of Korea and Hong Kong in 2000 while continuing her focus on the regional banking sector. Siew Hua was promoted to head up the Asian ex-Japan equities team in 2001.
She spent 8 years on the sell side before moving to asset management. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, she spent five years with Indosuez W. I. Carr as the Head of Research and was primarily responsible for the banking sector in Asia as well as managing a team of analysts. Siew Hua also worked as analyst at Standard Chartered Securities and Kay Hian James Capel.She started her career with the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation in the economics division.
Siew Hua holds a Master of Science (Econ) degree from the London School of Economics. Siew Hua graduated with a BSc. (Econ), London School of Economics and was awarded the Sir Premchand prize for academic achievement.

ALEX HILL, CFA | DIRECTOR | CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER |
Alex has over 20 years’ experience in the securities and finance industry. In 1987, he joined the institutional sales desk of Ord Minnett Ltd, Sydney after beginning his career at Coopers & Lybrand in 1982. In 1988, he was a registered option market maker for Bankers Trust Stockbroking, Sydney.
Subsequently, the majority of his career was spent in Asia. From 1989 to 1990, he was a securities trader and analyst for emerging markets at Templeton International, Hong Kong before joining WI Carr where he held several roles from 1990 to 2001.
Initially he worked in Hong Kong as an institutional salesman and sales/trader. From 1993, he was a director on the proprietary desk director where he was responsible for managing and hedging a Hong Kong OTC Option book, and also acted as a registered market maker for HSI options. From 1995 to 1996, he was a proprietary desk director in London. From 1996 to 2001, he was a director in both Malaysia and Singapore where he was responsible for regional dealing and sales/trading.
In 2001, he joined Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management in Singapore and left in 2003 to help form Tantallon Capital. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of New South Wales, Australia and a graduate diploma from the Securities Institute of Australia. He is a holder of the CFA designation, & a member of AIMR.

JOHN MUELLER, CFA | DIRECTOR

John Mueller is the Director of Research based in Japan.
John has been analyzing, and investing in Japanese companies for the past 18 years. Before joining Tantallon on September 1 2007, John was the head of the UBS Securities Special Situations Group in Japan. John started that group in 2004 to take advantage of M&A, distressed and other special situations in Japan. He brings a disciplined approach to bottom-up corporate analysis by focusing on cashflow generation, sums of parts and scenario analysis.
John started his career as a junior portfolio manager at Yasuda Mutal Life Insurance Company in 1987. He spent 5 years at Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette in Tokyo responsible for U.S. equity sales, and 2 years at Merrill Lynch Japan directing global TMT.
John has a B.A. summa cum laude from Colgate University, and was a recipient of a Thomas J.Watson Foundation Fellowship. John received his CFA designation in 1998 and was elected to the Board of Directors – CFA Society of Japan in 2004. John is fluent in Japanese.

COLUM MCCOOLE | DIRECTOR

Colum has over 13 years in the securities and finance industry. He was most recently part of the multi-strategy portfolio management team at Plutus Capital Management in London. Prior to that Colum spent 8 years at Morgan Stanley where he was an Executive Director, Head of International Convertibles Research based in London. Colum commenced his career in the industry as a Convertible & Derivatives Analyst with WI Carr Securities in Hong Kong.
Colum has a Masters in Business Studies from University College Dublin, Ireland.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University College Galway, Ireland. Colum joined Tantallon in February 2007. |
MAXENCE VINOT | DIRECTOR

Maxence has 11 years in the finance industry. He spent 4 years in Corporate Finance with Societe Generale in London, first in the Transportation & Infrastructure Group, then as a founding member of the Financial Sponsor Coverage Group providing advisory and financing to private equity firms across Europe. Prior to that, Maxence worked at Arthur Andersen in Paris. He started his career structuring aircraft financing with the Asian Aviation Group of Credit Lyonnais based in Singapore.
Maxence received his MBA from INSEAD, Singapore/France and is a graduate from E.D.H.E.C. Business School, France. |
VIVEK SINGH JAMWAL | ANALYST |
Vivek has more than 7 years experience in Information Technology. He has most recently worked as Project Leader at the National Computer Systems and as Analysts with Microsoft in Singapore. Prior to that, Vivek has several years of experience with Cognizant Technology Solutions and Zensar Technologies Ltd in India.
He is a CFA Level III candidate and recently passed the Financial Risk Management examination by GARP. Vivek received his Master of Science in Applied Finance from the Singapore Management University and also holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Pune University, India.

LOH HUI LING | DEALER

Hui Ling is the central dealer for Tantallon for the past few years. She moved from her previous role in Middle Office. Prior to this, Hui Ling has more than 5 years’ experience in fund accounting. She joined from Templeton Asset Management, last responsible for portfolio valuation and performance calculations. Prior to joining Templeton, she spent 4 years as Fund Accountant in Citibank. Hui Ling commenced her career as a junior fund analyst with Standard Chartered Bank.
Hui Ling has a degree in Bachelor of Commerce (Banking & management) from Curtin University of Technology, Australia.

LEE FOO KHEONG | CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Foo Kheong has more than 18 years experience in product control and management reporting in the securities industry. He commenced his career in the audit division of Coopers & Lybrand, Singapore. He was Finance Manager at Smith Barney Securities responsible for all its accounting functions prior to joining MeesPierson Asia as Controller.
In 1997, Foo Kheong joined Merrill Lynch as Cash Equities Controller. During his 8 years with ML, he was responsible for management reporting and product control for the Asian Equities business. He was most recently VP Cash Equities/Equity Derivative Controller managing teams based in Hong Kong and Singapore.
Foo Kheong holds an MBA from the Manchester Business School, University of Manchester and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of New South Wales in Australia. He is a qualified CPA with CPA Australia.
Foo Kheong joined Tantallon in July 2005.

PHIL DO | MANAGER - MIDDLE OFFICE |
Phil has extensive experience in fund accounting. He was most recently Assistant Treasurer – Global Fund Services at the Bank of New York, responsible for supervising a team of fund accountants. Prior to that Phil spent several years with State Street Bank and Trust responsible for portfolio accounting and corporate actions. Prior to arriving in Singapore, Phil gained experience in various fund administration roles in JP Morgan Chase and State Street Bank and Trust in Boston. He commenced his career with the Department of Revenue in Boston.
Phil holds a Bachelor of Science (Accounting) degree from the University of Massachusetts, Boston.

GOH HWEE PENG | FINANCE MANAGER

Hwee Peng has more than 15 years experience in Accounting and Trade Processing. She was most recently an Accountant at Credit Agricole Asset Management. During her 6 years there, she was responsible for financial and regulatory reporting. Prior to that, she gained extensive accounting and operational experience in Merrill Lynch and DBS Bank.
Hwee Peng is completing her ACCA (Accredited of Chartered Certified Accountants) qualification.

KEVIN SIA,CAIA | ASSISTANT MANAGER

Kevin has several years experience in auditing. He was an Audit Senior at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Kevin was involved in the audit of various financial institutions and asset management companies. His assignments also involved the review of internal controls and compliance to regulatory reporting.
He holds a Bachelor of Accountancy degree from the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore and is a member of the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association ®(CAIA).

NORMAN TAN | SENIOR FUND ACCOUNTANT

Norman has extensive experience in fund accounting and financial reporting. He was most recently Assistant Treasurer – Global Fund Services at the Bank of New York. Norman led a team of fund accountants in producing NAVs across various funds. Prior to that, he spent more than 5 years at Citibank N.A. as Senior Fund Accountant responsible for fund accounting, valuation and administration services. From 1990 to 1999, Norman worked in UBS AG in various roles responsible for financial and regulatory reporting.
He holds a Diploma in Accountancy from Ngee Ann Polytechnic in Singapore.

FIONA LIM | FUND ACCOUNTANT

Fiona has extensive experience in fund administration. She spent 8 years at Citigroup and was most recently Senior Fund Accountant with the Regional Fund Administration Unit. Fiona was responsible for the review of investment valuations and fund documentations. Prior to that, she worked in the accounting department of GK Goh Stockbrokers. Fiona started her career at POSB Bank.
Fiona holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in Business System Management from Deakin University, Australia.

KU POH YAN | HEAD OF IT |
Poh Yan joined Merrill Lynch in 1997 and was most recently a senior IT engineer in the Singapore office. He was responsible for PC and general infrastructure support. During this time, he supported users across Investment Banking, and Finance divisions.
