When Nick Harbinson and Alex Hill founded Tantallon Capital Advisors, they started with a spirit of teamwork and collaboration. Nick and Alex had known and worked with each other since 1990, having years of investment experience in Asia, and experience in multiple market cycles. That spirit of collaboration and shared insights underpins our investment community at Tantallon Funds.

Each of our funds are managed by CIOs we know and respect. Our combined investment experience has honed our ability to identify secular and cyclical economic trends, as well as catalytic triggers. We combine top-down macroeconomic themes with bottom-up investment decisions.  We each approach investing differently but believe that our complementary individual skills combined with deep industry knowledge and market experience enable us to share insights - supporting each other and enhancing our individual investment decision making process.

THE TANTALLON FUND

The Tantallon Fund is the original fund established at the founding of Tantallon Capital Advisors.  It is a Cayman Island vehicle which invests in listed equities in the Asia Pacific region. The fund targets a concentrated portfolio of 35 names, with a 3-5 year investment horizon. At the portfolio manager’s discretion the fund may hedge its market and currency exposure, and short sell individual securities.

The Tantallon Asia Impact Fund is a fundamental, bottom-up, proprietary research driven, Asia-focused total return Impact fund investing with a 3-5 year horizon in a concentrated (30-35 positions), market cap/sector/capital structure agnostic portfolio. We have actively sought to integrate an awareness of societal issues into our investment process, mapping rigorous financial analysis and an evaluation of sustainably profitable businesses, alongside a proprietary assessment of corporate commitment and capital allocation discipline to effect positive societal change. Our goal is to identify and invest in profitable businesses that intentionally prioritize sustainability, new product innovation, employee welfare, and product safety and efficacy standards, while fostering financial inclusion, diversity, and a commitment to corporate governance and accountability.
